One of the top questions people have when starting a business from home is "Where can I advertise online for free?"
There are literally millions of places you can find to advertise your business for free online. Free Classified sites, social media sites, forums, Safelists and many more. For todays blog post we will focus on free classified sites and save the rest for another day.
When posting ads on the free classified sites, here are a few simple instructions to get you started:
1) Set up another email account using gmail to subscribe to the free classifieds. DO NOT use your personal or business account for this!!!! You will get spammed!
2) First come up with a few ads that are short but sweet . Make sure you have a catchy title for your ad and do not forget to include your web address in the body of the ad and in the space provided on the form. Different free classifieds have different word count requirements, some let you post 4000 words, others 200 so make sure to be prepared with an assortment of ads.
3) Save your ads in word or notepad along with your titles/headers so you can copy and past to save time and mix and match ads.
4) Do NOT put your personal email or phone number in the ads! You do not need to, you only want to get them to your web site where your contact information is located if they have a question. Placing your personal information in an ad is a bad idea. People will take it and add you to mailing, email marketing and calling lists ect...
5) To make it easy for yourself use the same username and password for all the free classified sites you sign up with, that way it's easier to log in when you want to post your ads. Bookmark all of the sites you want to use so that on the days you want to post your ads you can just open them all and get started.
6) Make sure you pick the correct category, city, state ect... so you do not get booted from the site.
7) Get in, post your ad and get out! Do not waste your time reading other peoples ads! Your time = your money!
8) There is no need to pay to promote your ad on the free classified sites. You can do all your advertising for free.
